Attachment theory

Attachment theory is an idea about how children and their parents or caregivers connect with each other. It says that when babies and young children feel safe and loved by their parents or caregivers, they feel happy and confident to explore the world. If a child knows someone will take care of them when they are scared or upset, they feel secure inside. This special bond is called “attachment.”

So, attachment theory is all about how important it is for children to feel close to and cared for by their parents or caregivers.
